Company
Tradition

Production in the
"ROUROVNA" foundry (literary meaning
"PIPE WORKS") began as early as 1912. Its
main production program was cast shaped pieces,
commercial products made of cast iron, plates and
grates.
The company JÁNUŠ, which was
founded in 1923 in Prague, was among the first to
deal with the design, delivery and instalation of
machine and technological equipment for water
treatment plants, in addition to supplying special
sealings and chlorinating devices from the German
company ORNSTEIN. Components supplied by JÁNUŠ were
later used to assemble the company s own chlorinating
devices.
Foundry production in Písek
was extended in 1934 with machinery engineering and a
licence agreement was concluded with GARWENSWERKE
WIEN. As a result the Písek facility took over
production of the renowned GARWENS pumps. Production
was exported to Egypt, Yugoslavia, Sweden, Palestine
and other countries. At the end of the Second World
War the plant was destroyed by bombing.
In the 50 s, in the premises of
a former soap factory in Prague-Zizkov, the
production of chlorinators was restarted following
ORNSTEIN specifications, and gradually innovated. In
1960 the company developed and manufactured its first
controlled volume pumps and from that time
continously introduced new types.
In the same year the company in
Pisek merget with the Prague company under the new
name ZÁVOD PRO ÚPRAVU VODY (WATER TREATMENT PLANT).
Two other companies, VODOHOSPODÁŘSKÉ STROJÍRNY
(Water - management Engineering) and the state
enterprise VODOHOSPODÁŘSKÉ OPRAVNY A STROJÍRNY
(Water-Managment Services and Engineering Works),
joined later.
Reconstruction of the foundry
was completed in 1990 and a new modern foundry
producing grey cast iron with an annual capacity of
5000 tons was put into operation. During the
privatization process the facilities in Prague and
Kolin were returned back to their original owners and
engineering production was moved to the parent plant
in Pisek. The incorporated company VODOHOSPODÁŘSKÉ
OPRAVNY A STROJÍRNY was established in 1992.
Company Business Activities
MACHINE ENGINEERING
The main manufacturing program
consists of the produktion of controlled volume pumps
and other complementary equipment for dosing systems.
Our manufacturing program is aimed at water treatment
plants, circulation systems for pools, chemical and
food-processing facilities, power plants, the civil
engineering industry and agriculture.
FOUNDRY
Foundry production concentrates
on small-lot and repeat customized products. The main
program includes castings from grey and ductile iron
and castings from non-ferrous light metals, i.e.
aluminium, aluminium alloys and brass. Further we
manufacture constuction, installation and sewage
works elements - grilles, frames, covers, cast iron
shaped pieces for pressure operations, industrial
armatures, underground and ground-level hydrants
under CSN and DIN standards.
